Originally from Mountain Home AR, Laura graduated from The College of the Ozarks with a Bachelors in Accounting in 1995. During a two year internship with the American Red Cross accounting department, Laura sat for the Certified Public Accountant exam. With her accounting experience and credentials, Laura took a managerial position with a major pharmaceutical company to allow for a relocation to the East coast. During her six years there, she worked her way up to a District Analyst position, where she used her accounting and managerial experience to consult store managers on reading financial statements, hiring/ retaining employees and inventory management. In May of 2000, Laura began a career with New York Life agency, where she learned the skills necessary to assist individuals with building, preserving and protecting their income and assets, while focusing on issues including taxation, inflation, death, disability and financial goal management. In 2003, Laura established Laura Day and Associates. Currently, Laura Day and Associates serves over 2000 clients. Laura has served on the board of directors for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Delaware for six years in various roles. Her passion for philanthropy and community involvement is evident in her commitment to the Fund For Women of the Delaware Community Foundation where she works diligently to raise the awareness of this organization built upon women helping women through collective philanthropy. She also has served various other non-profit organizations including the Delaware Money School, Interfaith Housing Delaware, Inc. and Delaware Junior Achievement. Laura is the proud mother of Andrew and Haley.
